How to Get Ready for Your Portrait Session

I want you to feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful when you step in front of the camera.

Here are some simple tips to help you get the most out of your session...

Skin & Makeup

  • Moisturize your face and body the night before and the day of your session for a natural glow.

  • Stick with products you already use to avoid irritation.

  • If you’re doing your own makeup, apply it in natural light so your skin tone looks even.

  • A little powder or blotting papers can help reduce shine.

Hands & Nails

  • Your hands will show in many poses, so clean, shaped nails make a big difference.

  • Choose neutral polish, a timeless shade, or go with buffed natural nails.

  • Avoid chipped polish, since it can be distracting in close-ups.

Clothing & Accessories

  • Wear outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. If you’re constantly adjusting, it will show.

  • Solid colours and simple patterns photograph best—skip logos or busy prints.

  • Bring 2–3 outfit options for variety (something casual, something more polished, maybe a statement piece).

  • Choose seamless, neutral undergarments so nothing shows through.

  • Make sure clothes are wrinkle-free before arriving.

Hair

  • Style your hair in a way that feels like you, whether that’s loose curls, a sleek blowout, or natural texture.

  • If you need a trim or colour touch-up, schedule it a week before your session.

  • Bring a brush or clips in case you want to adjust your look during the shoot.

Other Helpful Tips

  • Get a good night’s rest so your eyes look fresh.

  • Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot.

  • Eat a light snack beforehand so you feel energized but comfortable.

  • Bring little extras that make you feel amazing: a favorite piece of jewelry, your go-to lipstick, or heels.

Mindset & Confidence

This is the most important part: you don’t need to know how to pose, that’s my job.

I’ll guide you every step of the way so you look your best.

Come ready to relax, laugh, and enjoy the experience. The more fun you have, the more your confidence and beauty will shine through.

I look forward to meeting you and creating beautiful images
